Once there was a Tugboat by the name of Tam she was a very good boat and good at her job, but she was not happy doing it. All day long Tam would push and pull heavy barges up and down the river,she never fussed, she just worked hard. Tam always watched the speedboats going up and down the river so light and and fast and pretty, that is what I want to be thought Tam the Tug. Tam worked for a long long time and the more she saw the speedboats the more she wanted to be like them.
One day after a lot of trips up and down the river Tam decided she wasn't going to be a Tug Boat anymore she was going to figure out how to be a speedboat, that would make her very happy. The very next day her captain came to work to take her out on the river as ALWAYS;-) , and was so surprised when Tams engine would not start, she had decided she was not going to be Tam the Tug anymore. That night when everyone had left, Tam started her engine and backed out in the river. She went up and down the river faster than she had ever gone before, she made lots of waves and splashed all about. Tam slipped back into her dock in the morning before the captain or the crew came back, they tried and tried to start her engine and she just did not start for them.
Tam waited till her captain and crew were gone that day, and as soon as it got late enough she backed into the river and sped up and down the river again back and forth playing making lots of waves , Tam loved to go fast woohoooo she shouted as she sped back and forth up and down the river, that is what I have to be thought Tam the Tug, a speedboat painted red with sparkles in the paint, that thought made Tam smile as she got back home the next morning.
Tam the Tug floated in her spot at her dock the next day while the Captain and crew tried to think why she wouldnt start, and while they were thinking how to start her engine she was thinking of how to be a speedboat , she started watching the speedboats and what kind of food they ate, it was very different from what she ate, she decided it must be her food that made her big enough to be a tugboat.
The next day Tam the Tug started eating like the speedboats, she had eggwhites and fruit for breakfast, she had a nice big salad for lunch, and some nuts for a snack and for supper she had chicken and broccoli and a sweet potatoe, she was feeling good and knew that she was right it was her food that was making her a Tugboat. Tam cleaned out her refrigerator and got rid of all the bad foods she had been eating , icecream and cakes cookies and pies all that stuff she ate was making her a big old tugboat.
Tams captain could not figure why Tams Engine would not start and each day he came by he thought she looked smaller. Every night Tam the Tug went out on the river and sped up and down, she was getting faster everyday she knew and she could tell she was getting tinier each day. She kept on eating the same foods the speedboats were eating and pretty soon she was passing all the boats on the river, she knew she was finally a speedboat and went wooohoooo as she passed all the other boats on the river, Tam steered slowly back to her dock the next morning, and tied up with ropes, she looked down in the water and saw her reflection for the very first time WOW she was a beautifullll long speedboat.
That morning Tams captain came to the dock and was so surprised at what he saw, Tam the Tug was no longer the big boat he had always been the captain of , she was this big long beautifull speedboat, the captain was so pleased he had the painters come in and paint her red with sparkles in her paint like she had always dreamed, and he changed her name from Tam the Tug to Captains DreamTam, and the Captain ALWAYS had a WINK in his eye everytime he took her out on the river and to this day the Captain and his DreamTam speed up and down the river and you can hear Tam goin WOOOHOOOO as she passses all the other boats on the river.
